This is my portrait of Handsome Dick Manitoba. Handsome Dick was the lead singer in the infamous Dictators back in the CBGB days. He currently fronts The Dictators NYC and is a DJ on Sirius XM”s Underground Garage.

Musicians 50+ Peppy Castro

This is Peppy Castro one of the early pioneers of the Psychedelic Garage band rock era. At age 17 he was one of the founding members of the legendary rock group, The Blues Magoos. He also starred in the original Broadway production of Hair. His songs have been recorded by the likes of Diana Ross, Kiss and Cher among others.

Musicians 50+ Andy Shernoff

Continuing my Musicians 50+ this is Andy Shernoff, bass player and songwriter from NYC punk rockers The Dictators. He also played bass and sang backing vocals on Joey Ramone’s solo album. His songs have been covered by The Ramones, Joey Ramone, Dion and Mary Weiss from The Shangri La’s.
