Winning Image in the 2017 International Color Awards

This shot was just named as a winner in the 2017 International Color Awards. I shot this on Thanksgiving eve a few years ago. The family was attending the annual blowing up the balloons event before the Thanksgiving Day parade. One of my personal faves.

My image titled Sleeping Family was judged a winner in the 2017 International Awards Competition. This image is from my Underground NYC project and was shot on Thanksgiving evening of a family coming home from the float inflating event that happens every year. It was shot on my iPhone 6 and processed with Snapseed. One of those beautiful moments.

I shot this a few years ago at Grand Central Station and forgot all about it until I was looking through a folder on my computer of street photos. This time around it really struck me. A great subject with beautiful light and shadow . . .

Nor sure exactly what was going on here but it sure was intriguing. One moment in time . . .

My 1970’s Street Photos in The Museum of the City of NY

I’m proud to announce that 18 of my gritty street photos from NYC in the mid 1970’s have been accepted into the permanent collection at the Museum of the City of New York. Little did I know that as a 25 year old roaming the mean streets that these photos would end up in a museum. I first approached them with this work about 3-4 years ago and I can tell you that persistence pays off.

On The Subway

I shot this yesterday in the subway. They had just announced a delay and the woman next to may displayed this expression of dismay. I shot it, one second there, the next second gone. That’s what makes street photography so exciting. These subway shots just may be the beginning of a new series. Shot on my iPhone and mage processed using Snapseed.

I shot this in the subway a couple of days ago and using the app Snapseed managed to get this painterly effect. It’s amazing what one can do on a phone these days.
