New Portraits – The Butts Brothers

These are the Butts Brothers from Deposit, New York. On our weekend trips to our cabin upstate NY I had seen these gents on their porch for years and always wanted to do a portrait but never had the guts to go up and ask them. Now that I’m on a mission to shoot more location portraits the time was now. On a trip to the grocery store Robin and I saw them so we went back to the house, grabbed some gear and went back. Robin went up and asked them and they agreed. I really liked the open shade on the porch so decided just to use a reflector to pump up the contrast a bit. With a little help from Photoshop these are the results.

    I lived in deposit ny for over20 years and remember a Butts family its a great little town and I miss it a lot ; beautiful all year, esp in the fall , wonderful people and I have so many fond memories When I was there my name was sue schmitz, second husband Wright, good country folk, it was me that moved on! Ivana
