New Portraits – Ambrose Martos (tears of a clown)

Clown © Leland Bobbé

This is my scary clown portrait of Ambrose Martos. Actor, burlesque show host and professional clown, I found Ambrose on Facebook on a friends page and was struck by his quirky looks. I sought him out and ended up shooting him 3 different ways . . . a studio portrait, as part of my neo-burlesque series, and as a clown. I shot this downtown NYC using a mini-beauty dish on a Nikon speedlight with a 70-300 zoom set at 185mm, at f8.

Hey Lee! It’s your cousin Beth. I stumbled on your website. Ambrose is a friend of mine from back in NYC – we did improv together. What a small world. All your photos look great. I live in Seattle now and don’t get back east all that much except for quick in and outs to see my parents and brother. Hope all is well
