A series of spreads from my Neo-Burlesque book proposal took 3rd place in the Book category at this year’s xto Image Awards.
Tattered
Tattered Face and Tattered Hoops were shot on 5th Avenue in the lower 30’s on a temporary construction wall covered with peeling posters. I love the collage-like effect and the faces that seem to seep out of the wall in fragments.
Projekt30
Projekt30 The Sex Issue: Volume 5 features artworks which comment upon gender and sex in our society. Included is Kissy Wishes, one from my series of Neo-Burlesque performers.
American Photography 26
My image titled ‘Snow Bench’ was one of 132 images chosen out of over 8,000 entries to be included in the 2010 American Photography 26. See more of my ‘scapes’ images here.
Artrom Gallery
A series of my street images placed 3rd in Artrom’s ‘Split Second Impulse’ competition.
Jenny C’est Quoi
Jenny C’est Quoi is the co-producer of Brooklyn’s Indie Girls Burlesque (where the audience suggests the theme!) and founding member of Storybook Burlesque.
Chris Cross
Chris Cross is a British Stand-Up Comedy Magician, Contortionist & Escapologist. He came to New York to host a burlesque show, was given my name, and we arranged a shoot. Chris is on tour across the UK starting this month, June 2010, and will play at Glastonbury in July.
Blue Chairs
‘Blue Chairs’ was shot in Times Square on a rainy afternoon. I was struck by the empty chairs just sitting in the middle of the street and everything seems to have a glow.
aCurator Magazine Features Women of 5th Avenue
Newly-launched aCurator magazine featured my series of women ‘of a certain age’ photographed on upper 5th Avenue in Manhattan, in the first issue. The series looks great in the full screen format and apparently the readers loved it; London’s glossy magazine The Big Issue, a publication distributed by and for the homeless, featured my series in their review of aCurator.
