I stood in the same spot for about 40 minutes focused on this background waiting for people too walk by. On a normal day there would have been too many people but during the lockdown in NYC there were so few people on the streets. I set my camera on high speed continues and when an interesting person walked by I was able to bang off at least 5-6 shots. This woman was by far my favorite.

On Wednesday evening 2/19 between 6:30 and 9:30 I will be one of 3 photographers presenting work at Projections sponsored by The PhotoCloser. I’ll be showing work from NYC 1970’s, Neo-Burlesque and Half-Drag The event will be held at La Caverna at 122 Rivington Street. I’m going on last. These are fun events and yes there is a bar.

Most of you know me as a photographer but back in the day i played drums in bands with my dear friend John Berenzy. I started playing bass a bit over 3 years ago and have been writing and recording. I wrote this song about my street photography in NYC in the 70’s, what the city was like then and what it’s like now. Along with my photos I see it as a rock ‘n roll documentary.
