I recently did an interview with art consultant Marla Hamburg Kennedy which was just published to her Art and Living blog. Through answering these questions I actually realized a few things about some of my favorite photos that I had never really thought about before. Each one of these 3 photos has the juxtaposition of being stuck and having time move on at the same time. Please read the interview to see more.

PBS just licensed two of my 1970’s NYC Street Photos for an American Masters doc on the 1977 blackout. Production on the film should be complete within a month and it will be airing sometime in July. Above shot of hookers was taken on the Bowery near CBGB’s. You have to love those boots . . .

I shot this on 42nd street between 7th and 8th Ave in the heart of Times Square during the time this area was transitioning from the down and dirty place it was to a cross between Disneyland and Las Vegas. I now call it Las Disney. For a while all of the businesses were shuttered and closed and the whole street was painted in these bright colors. It was very surreal and I haven’t seen too many photos shot here during this time.
