I just returned from a fly fishing trip in the jungles of Costa Rica. Manny was one of the fishing guides at the lodge where I stayed. As soon as I saw him on the dock I was struck by the soulfulness of his face and eyes. I asked him if I could shoot his portrait and he agreed. I came prepared with my cameras and a reflector just in case. The background I selected is the side of the cabin that I stayed in.

I shot this downtown NYC using a mini-beauty dish on a Nikon speedlight with a 70-300 zoom set at 185mm, at f8.
