I found these two beautiful kids at an upstate NY summer fair in Walton, NY. We approached each kid’s parents, told them we were there to shoot portaitz and the kids and the parents were into it. I love the way they compliment each other. Shot with natural light and a reflector.

New Portraits – New Orleans
This is another portrait from my recent trip to New Orleans. I found Jed playing stand up bass in a band on the street in the French Quarter. I approached him during a break and it turns out the band came all the way down to New Orleans from Maine just to play on the streets. I found this great wall right around the corner and shot this in about 5 minutes.
Loupe International Awards – 3 Images
Three of my portraits have been awarded in the 2011 Loupe International Competition. VFW and Cheeky Lane each won Bronze awards while my studio portrait titled Frank won a Silver Award. A nice way to end the year . . .
New Portraits – Manny . . . Costa Rican Fishing Guide
I just returned from a fly fishing trip in the jungles of Costa Rica. Manny was one of the fishing guides at the lodge where I stayed. As soon as I saw him on the dock I was struck by the soulfulness of his face and eyes. I asked him if I could shoot his portrait and he agreed. I came prepared with my cameras and a reflector just in case. The background I selected is the side of the cabin that I stayed in.
New Portfolio On My Website – Location Portraits
I just uploaded a new portfolio of portraits to my website, all shot on location. Almost everything here was shot over the past summer, many of which were shot at fairs in upstate New York. This was a really fun project . . . a real slice of Americana.
