This is my recent portrait of guitar player Al Maddy. I saw Al at a club one night and asked if he would be interested in sitting for a portrait. He agreed and showed up with among other things this Moroccan hooded robe. I shot him wearing a few different things but to me this shot has the mood and mystery that set it apart. Lit with my trusty Profoto beauty dish.

New Portraits – Manny . . . Costa Rican Fishing Guide
I just returned from a fly fishing trip in the jungles of Costa Rica. Manny was one of the fishing guides at the lodge where I stayed. As soon as I saw him on the dock I was struck by the soulfulness of his face and eyes. I asked him if I could shoot his portrait and he agreed. I came prepared with my cameras and a reflector just in case. The background I selected is the side of the cabin that I stayed in.
