On The Subway

Every day in NYC I see something that catches my eye, not always pleasant but usually real and often moving. In this case as soon as I hit the subway platform it’s bam, right in my face. After I snapped the photo the gent on the end said something really nasty to me but hey, I gotta do what I gotta do.

Blizzard

I know this is probably one of the most photographed buildings in New York but I was out walking during the height of the blizzard last weekend and just happened to have my camera with me. This was what I saw. There was so little definition that the auto focus wouldn’t work on my Nikon and I focused this by hand barely being able to see anything. I converted to black and white and added a vignette to give it that old New York City look.

I shot this in color a while ago and recently started playing around with B&W conversions using Topaz software. I’m really happy with the results and loving black and white these days.
