Another goodie from the NYC subway system. To me this image illustrates the beauty of photography. Most people would never really see this but as viewed through a camera the viewer is forced to deal with disparate elements.

The homeless situation in NYC shows no signs of abating. This was shot on the subway platform at 28th Street and Broadway on my iPhone and proceed using Snapseed.
Another day on the NYC subway’s. Never a dull moment if you keep your eyes open.
Another interesting observation on the NYC subways. Captured on my iPhone and processed with Snapseed. I’d love to know what’s on that kid’s mind . . .
I’m proud to announce that 18 of my gritty street photos from NYC in the mid 1970’s have been accepted into the permanent collection at the Museum of the City of New York. Little did I know that as a 25 year old roaming the mean streets that these photos would end up in a museum. I first approached them with this work about 3-4 years ago and I can tell you that persistence pays off.
This is the latest in my new series On The Subway. I love those off beat, strange and random expressions. Shot on m y iPhone and processed using Snapseed.
My photo titled Streetlight was just awarded an honorable mention in the 5th annual Mobile Photo Awards in the category Silouhettes. There was a first place winner and all other awards were honorable mentions.
Every day in NYC I see something that catches my eye, not always pleasant but usually real and often moving. In this case as soon as I hit the subway platform it’s bam, right in my face. After I snapped the photo the gent on the end said something really nasty to me but hey, I gotta do what I gotta do.
I know this is probably one of the most photographed buildings in New York but I was out walking during the height of the blizzard last weekend and just happened to have my camera with me. This was what I saw. There was so little definition that the auto focus wouldn’t work on my Nikon and I focused this by hand barely being able to see anything. I converted to black and white and added a vignette to give it that old New York City look.
