Loupe International Awards – 3 Images
Three of my portraits have been awarded in the 2011 Loupe International Competition. VFW and Cheeky Lane each won Bronze awards while my studio portrait titled Frank won a Silver Award. A nice way to end the year . . .
Award Winner – One Life Photography Competition
My portrait above taken at a summer fair in Deposit, NY was selected by the editorial committee of the One Life Photography Competition to be included int their upcoming museum quality book titled One Life Photos. This was an international competition and only a select few images will appear in the publication. Thank you One Life!
Award – 5th Annual Photography Masters Cup
My photograph titled Owen was just awarded as a nominee in the 5th Annual Photography Masters Cup in the portrait category. This competition honors color photography only. This was shot right on the streets of NYC using a 200mm lens, natural light and a reflector.
First Place – World Photography Gala Awards B&W Competition
My image titled Black Swan just took a first place in the 2011 World Photography Gala Awards Competition in the Cityscapes and Street Photography category. This image is part of my Stormy Weather series currently on my website. This image is one of my favorite images that I have ever taken.
Graphis 100 Best in Photography 2011
My portrait of Albert Cadabra was just given a gold award in the Graphis 100 Best in Photography 2011 Competition. This is the second year in a row images from my Neo-Burlesque series have been chosen by Graphis for this prestigious award.
Worldwide Photography Gala Awards Finalist
A series of my Women of Fifth Avenue project was just named as a finalist in the Worldwide Photography Awards Storyteller Contest. 1200 series were received from 44 countries for the first screening and of those 178 passed to the second screening. One winner, 4 runner ups and 29 honorable mentions were awarded while another 100 were finalists. All will be featured in the book Storyteller.
2010 International Aperture Awards
Three of my images have been recognized in the 2010 International Awards Competition. Snow Bench won a silver award for Landscape while Red Man and Albert Cadabra won bronze in Abstract/Illustrative and People and Portrait . This is the second straight year that three of my images have been awarded in this competition.
PDN Photobook NYC Winner
A series of my New York City street photography was chosen by Photo District News as a winning submission in the PDN Photobook NYC Contest. All winning images will be included in an upcoming book to be published by PDN.
This particular shot was taken in Tines Square during a rainy and dreary Thursday afternoon. I particularly like the little splashes of bright color.
