Most of you know me as a photographer but back in the day i played drums in bands with my dear friend John Berenzy. I started playing bass a bit over 3 years ago and have been writing and recording. I wrote this song about my street photography in NYC in the 70’s, what the city was like then and what it’s like now. Along with my photos I see it as a rock ‘n roll documentary. I originally shot this portrait in color eleven years ago for Getty Images. I just rediscovered it and was curious to see what it would look like in black and white. Using Topaz software I made the conversion and really am pleased with the results. I just entered this into Lens Culture’s Black and White Awards.
