A selection of images from my Underground NYC series was just awarded in the 2017 London International Creative Competition.
I shot this on my iPhone on the streets on NYC. One of the reasons I love street photography is that if you keep your eyes open you can capture moments such as this. When i came upon this I was struck by the billboard of the sandwich eater and the orange and yellow of the newspaper dispensers. I knew that if I framed it up in an interesting way and just waited i would get people walking by. It all happens so fast that I’m never really sure off what I’ve captured until I actually look at the photos. It’s the randomness and spontaneity of street photography that makes it so exciting to me. I lucked out with this woman glancing at the poster. I think that it really ties the whole image together.

My image titled Sleeping Family was judged a winner in the 2017 International Awards Competition. This image is from my Underground NYC project and was shot on Thanksgiving evening of a family coming home from the float inflating event that happens every year. It was shot on my iPhone 6 and processed with Snapseed. One of those beautiful moments.

I was on vacation last week in my Upstate NY home where i spend a lot of time fly fishing for wild Brown Trout right outside my front door. I shot this with my iPhone just before I left the water. There’s something about casting for trout during the magic hour that can’t be described. I’ll let this photo do the talking . . .
