Two Of My Images In A Feature Film

I just licensed these 2 images for inclusion in a feature film based on the James Baldwin novel “If Beale Street Could Talk”, about a couple in Harlem in the 1970’s in NYC. The film’s director is Barry Jenkins who Directed Best Picture winner Moonlight. It will be premiered at the next NY Film Festival.

Hardhats Project

Here’s the latest portrait from my Hard Hat Project, street portraits of people who work in hard hats. There aren’t too many women out there but I’ve managed to find a few. I found her on the corner of 86th St. and Lexington Ave. I didn’t have my equipment with me but asked her if I could come back and shoot her. She agreed.

The Deuce and the Bowery. My 70’s NYC photos in Provokr

A story about my NYC 1970’s street photos was recently run in Provokr, an online publication dealing with all aspects of culture. With the release of the HBO show The Deuce, which is centered around Times Square during the early 1970’s, I’ve received many requests about my images. What goes around comes around.

Winning Image in the 2017 International Color Awards

This shot was just named as a winner in the 2017 International Color Awards. I shot this on Thanksgiving eve a few years ago. The family was attending the annual blowing up the balloons event before the Thanksgiving Day parade. One of my personal faves.

Recent Book Cover

One of my Times Square images from the mid 1970’s was recently used as a Book Cover for Blue Money by Janet Capron. This novel tells the story of a woman working the street of NYC during this era. A perfect fit.

My Work in Calcco

I found this article by chance today through a Facebook notification on a Spanish visual communication publication. With the help of Google Translate I was able to actually read it as my high school Spanish left me years ago. It covers many of my projects including Half-Drag, Neo-Burlesque, Urbanscapes, Women of Fifth Avenue, and Scapes. Nicely done . . .

Street Photography Exhibit

My image titled Black Swan was one of the images curated into Fabrik’s 2017 On The Street Photography Competition and will be shown at Fathom Gallery in LA as part of a larger show titled Present But Not Involved, an exhibition of Street Photography. This show will be showing works of over 60 street photographers with images dating back to 1897 through 2017. The show illustrates the evolution in photographic style and technique from the inception of street photography. April 29-May 27.
